Welding shelters

Our new welding shelters are ideal for keeping contaminants (and the sun, rain etc.) out of your weld site. Protecting your welding area from airborne sand and dust makes weld preparation easier, and helps you achieve quality electrofusion welds.

They’re also good for a trip to the beach!

From where you would rather weld

All poly welders will know that butt welding pipe can be a hot job. When welding a pipeline in the remote Western Australian outback, with an ambient temperature of 48ºC, the last thing you really want to be standing next to is a large heating plate radiating 220ºC.

Which is why the guy in this photo probably has the right idea. Poly welding on a tropical island, right on the beach. All that’s missing is the sun chair and a Long Island Iced Tea.

And if it gets too hot, you can calculate that on a DN630 pipe SDR11/PN16 with a wall thickness of around 57mm, the weld cooling time is going to be over an hour – plenty of time for a swim in the ocean!

Polyweld Machinery has the Ritmo DELTA 630 butt welder available for sale and hire. Read more here.
